Totally happy with my purchases at BCT and even happier with the friendly knowledgeable staff. Bought a new bike and some accessories, he threw a $60 helmet in for nothing, fitted the accessories for nothing, set the bike up for nothing. Got a flat tyre from Bindi thorns so they thorn proofed both tyres and didn't charge any labour. Cheers Wes and co
I'm not very experienced in bikes, but based on the other reviews I visited this business in order to get some basic repairs and service. They were straight forward and very helpful and did not try to hassle or overcharge me just because they could. They were great. Fixed my bike and a good cost and very helpful. Would highly recommend them.
Yesterday I went in to The Bicycle Centre to have a look at buying a new seat for my Giant (Cypress), which I bought there 4 years ago. I am a social rider and use my bike daily as a commuter to travel 20 km to/from my work and just getting around town. Sales and Service then was excellent and my bike has be serviced twice since that time by friendly and honest staff at The Bicycle Centre. I have only very good words for my satisfaction after any of my dealings with the staff at The Bicycle Centre. Wes served me at my bike purchase time, where after I had explained what style of riding I did, I was measured for the best fit bike size. He then laid out and explained a few recomendations for consideration that I might choose from. And it was Wes who served me again yesterday. My original seat's external cover is starting to crack so I walked in with the intention of buying another similar seat as a replacement. Wes explained and showed me all my options for new seats and asked had I considered a less expensive option; a seat cover, since my seat's support padding and chassis was still in excellent condition. The new seats were nice but relatively expensive. The Gel seat cover I ended up buying (at a fraction of the cost of the new seats) works perfect for my style of riding and I am extremely happy with how it feels and the bike handles... almost too good in fact. I have lived in Townsville for 30 years and have ridden my many and varied bicycles regularly during this time. I have dealt with many and various bike shops during this time too, but I can honestly say that I will always return to, and recommend The Bicycle Centre on Ingham Road, West End as my preferred bike shop for any of my cycling requirements in Townsville. Ive been searching for a reliable bike service centre in Townsville for a while and I just found them. Quality and honest service by a family owned business. For a very reasonable $89 i received a full bike service that improved the quality of my ride noticeably. These guys have got to be the cheapest and best in town, surely.
Those other reviews all look a bit weird, but I was very happy with the advice and service I received today (yes, they were open). I broke my rear derailleur wire, and it was just $3.50. The guy behind the counter was knowledgeable and the prices of the other items were refreshing compared to the stores in Brisbane. I needed some "spacers" for my wife's bike, and so he just gave me some. I ended up buying a bunch of stuff there, and I'm writing this review today as a nice way to say thanks. Have Fun!
